Cross Continental Comedy
Cross Continental Comedy is a multicultural stand-up showcase
featuring four of Melbourne's fastest rising comedians, each bringing
their own unique perspectives and lived experiences to the
stage delivering a shared hour of non-stop hilarity!
Also
featuring special guests from around the Festival each night!
Leo is a Parisian who left home for Australia after
meeting his girlfriend in Darwin,
after all Australia is the real
capital of love and light? – at least now that he has arrived from Paris
to share his humour. In the end we all share the same struggles in
life, Except when you’re French, it’s twice as hard but c’est la vie.
Leo
will be sure to complain about it. Whether you’re French, Australian or
any other nationality, come share a laugh you’ll never forget. After the
show, he’s always happy to share a piece of camembert and a glass of
wine to discuss the meaning of life.
In 2017, Nadun Hetti
was just a teenager who left war-torn Sri Lanka and ended up in
Australia. Today, he’s one of Australia’s rising comedy stars and an
award-winning comedian. In this hour, Nadun shares his unique origin
story – from growing up during the Sri Lankan Civil War to navigating
life down under. His humour is raw, relatable and unapologetically bold,
delivered with sharp punchlines and a dark twist.
Yeluselemi is a rising French-Congolese comedian
who turns culture clash, migration madness and romantic chaos into pure
comedy heat. She started as a poet, but quickly realised stand-up gives
louder laughs, fewer tears and way more chances to make Australians
laugh every single night. Her come dy blends big energy, sharp
punchlines and the kind of stories that make you rethink your life
choices… or at least your dating history. Audiences love her mix of
French charm and Congolese attitude even if Australia absolutely wasn’t
ready for it.
Come for the jokes. Stay for the accent. Pray for
the dating stories.
Mort, our Australian representitive, is a two-time RAW
Comedy State Finalist. He has swiftly made a mark on the Melbourne
comedy scene, performing alongside household names in Victoria and at
Adelaide and Sydney Fringe festivals and selling out several shows at
his Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut Snake Eyes in
2025. Disarming you with a somewhat easy going delivery and coastal
drawl attributed to his Sunshine Coast upbringing, the now
Melbourne-based comic manages to find the ridiculous in the mundane and
the silly in the serious, doing so with a disposition that is cheerful,
considered and even charming, in a “let him know where the spare house
key is because he’s trustworthy and a good landscaper but I wouldn’t
want him to marry my daughter” kind of way.
Littered with
whimsical verbiage and a penchant for nostalgia, Mort has honed his
unique take on the art of verbal f#%kery, delivering a comedic style
that will no doubt catch you off guard and get you on board tout de
suite.
