Ashley Apap

A live stream of Ashley Apap's show RESTLESS that you can see in person or online. Being unsettled is a default for Ashley Apap. Finding calm in the ridiculousness of existence, she is most at ease when embracing chaos. In RESTLESS, Ashley analyses if being comfortable is at all achievable, or a pipe dream used to quiet our turbulent minds. An ode to finding your place in a contradictory world, RESTLESS is Ashley’s absurdist attempt at laughing in the face of her endless overwhelm. Through her offbeat performance style, clever misdirection and cheeky crowd work, she dissects and demonstrates the tension that propels her very being. Ashley will go to surprising lengths to balance the reassurance of her audience and her own satisfaction on stage. With cautious optimism and an enduring curiosity for unspoken truths, she asks showgoers if they too, are ever truly comfortable.Ashley Apap is a Melbourne/Naarm-based writer/comedian whose work focuses on melding accessibility, silliness and sincerity. Her debut Melbourne International Comedy Festival hour Ouch! was nominated for the 2022 Golden Gibbo Award and played to to sold out crowds and she's since been performing her high-energy stan-up, sketch, improv and musical comedy around Australia.
