Grace Jarvis

Getting Dragged Backwards Through a Hedge

Australian comedy’s number one autistic glamourpuss is back at Melbourne International Comedy Festival with a banging hour of trademark Jarvis oddball stand-up. She’s getting dragged backwards through a hedge and onto stage to perform some brand-new carefully crafted, deceivingly dark and genuinely funny stand-up comedy about the cruelty of reality TV, the cultural distrust being perpetrated by fairy floss flavoured vapes and the collapse of the social contract. There’s something, if not for everyone, then for a large spectrum of freaks.

One of Rolling Stone's 12 Must-See Comedy Shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

'One of the smartest and funniest comedians coming up in Australia right now.' Zachary Ruane (Aunty Donna)

'Wonderfully upbeat for the angst generation.' ★★★★ One4Review (UK)

'Unique, compelling and very funny, she’s like a pre-wanker Morrissey before he stopped looking at the stars.' Rolling Stone (UK)

'Her energy is infectious and her jokes tightly wound.' The Guardian

'A refreshing and unique perspective in amongst an ocean of generic stand-up.' Art Murmurs (NZ)

'She’s got the jokes, the presence, and the pacing. Her delivery is warm and offbeat, with just enough bite. This isn’t a comic fumbling towards their “thing” – she’s already doing it, and doing it well.' One4Review (UK)
